Wood Storks in the Trees In Port Richey

Wood Storks in the Trees

Port Richey, Florida. There are always Wood Storks on this tree in the middle of a pond behind a shopping center in Port Richey. Sometimes there are many more than now but that’s in the summer when the tree is covered with leaves so you can’t see them as easily.

I think they look like giant flowers.  Wood Storks are water birds but maybe these guys didn’t want to get their feet wet?

Wood storks visit our pond and they march back and forth in the water, looking for good snacks. They keep their beaks in the water and open and close them to let the water sluice through. They walk to disturb the bottom and find creatures hiding there.
