John Chesnut Cruise In The Park-Palm Harbor FL

John Chesnut Cruise In The Park-Palm Harbor FL is Saturday, April 29, 2017.  Another great car show and John Chesnut Sr. Park is a delightful place to have it. We, of course, go every year with our AACA-Richey Region Car Club friends.

Where is John Chesnut Park? 2200 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor, FL. (It’s where our car club holds its annual picnics on Lake Tarpon). The views are spectacular.

The show is open to Classic and Custom Cars and Trucks.

When Is It? April 29, 2017 (this Saturday). Registration is $20 and starts at 9 am to 11 am. Show hours are 10 am to 3 pm. Over 50 trophies will be awarded and the show will go on rain or shine. Spectators admission is free. Lots of trees will give shade but be sure to wear sunscreen, and a hat or visor, and sunglasses.  And drink lots of water.

This is a family-fun show run by Rotary Club of East Lake Sunrise to benefit local charities.

A DJ and entertainment, a bounce house, YMCA Healthy Kids Day Activities, and lots more will be part of the fun. Food and beverages will be available to purchase. The kids will enjoy all the fun things to do and so will you.

John Chesnut Sr. Park (aka Brooker Creek) is really one of the prettiest parks in the area. If you head over to the boat ramp area, there’s a tower you can climb and look over a huge part of Lake Tarpon. Bring your cameras. And parking is free at Pinellas County Parks.

The picture above is taken from a wooden walkway that takes you along the edge of the lake and there’s always interesting things to see. We’ve walked there when Herons or Egrets are standing on the walkway handrails and just watch us stroll by.

Finally, I hope to see you there. I’ll be wearing the hat.

Sunday In John Chesnut Park

Sunday In John Chesnut Park in Palm Harbor, FL

John Chesnut Park is one of the nicest parks in our area. We always enjoy a day there.  Yesterday, our classic car club – AACA-Richey Region had it’s annual picnic there. We had a great time as usual and there was plenty to eat. I did a blog about the park a couple of years back showing another alligator swimming down the boat ramp.

Sunday In John Chesnut Park

John Chesnut Park is in Pinellas County just a little south of the Pasco-Pinellas line on the eastern end of Lake Tarpon. It is a beautiful park and we had a visit from a friendly gator who was swimming by. He was enjoying Sunday In John Chesnut Park too.

The park has a wonderful picnic area with covered benches and a grill at each spot.

We had a great time with our AACA-Richey Region buddies.

Pinellas parks are free to park but they do charge a small fee to reserve a shelter for picnics and parties. So be sure to plan ahead for a Sunday In John Chesnut Park. (even a Saturday).

BTW, there is a car show scheduled next Saturday: April 25 at John Chesnut Park. We’re going, of course.
