Besides the excellent golf course, we have lots of conservation areas, tennis courts, a beautiful clubhouse, and a fantastic pool and spa, meeting rooms, a banquet room, and a restaurant and bar. A friend asked me the other night if I still lived in Timber Greens and I said why  would I go anywhere else? His comment to me was that it is a beautiful neighborhood. Very astute of him. I researched the history of Holiday and came upon this interesting page. It’s Haunted Places in Holiday. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you feel about haunted places, there is only one listed. According to the St. Pete Times, The Lakeview Rodeo was on land located at 2401 US Hwy. 19. (In front of Tahitian Gardens.) which burned down in 2002. Some have claimed to see a man standing in the exact spot where the building stood. BTW, there was no-one killed or injured by the fire.

Another piece of history from 1883: Holiday was known as Anclote, Hopeville became New Port Richey, and Tarpon Springs isn’t on the map because it didn’t have a post office at the time.
