John Chesnut Cruise In The Park

John Chesnut Cruise In The Park is Saturday, April 27, 2019. Another great car show and John Chesnut Sr. Park is a delightful place to have it. We, of course, go every year and meet our AACA Car Club friends.

Where is John Chesnut Park? 2200 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor, FL. (It’s where our car club usually holds its annual picnics on Lake Tarpon). The views are spectacular. This post updated 3/2018.

A DJ and entertainment, a bounce house, YMCA Healthy Kids Day Activities, and lots more will be part of the fun. Food and beverages will be available to purchase. Kids will enjoy the many fun things to do and so will you.

John Chesnut Sr. Park

John Chesnut Sr. Park (aka Brooker Creek) is really one of the prettiest parks in the area. If you head over to the boat ramp area, there’s a tower you can climb and look over a huge part of Lake Tarpon. Bring your cameras. And parking is free at Pinellas County Parks.

The pictures above are taken from a wooden walkway that takes you along the edge of the lake and there are always interesting things to see. We’ve walked there  with Herons or Egrets standing on the walkway handrails just watching us stroll by. Gators swim by in the water.

Finally, I hope to see you there. I’ll be wearing the hat.  🙂

Anclote Park In Holiday FL

Lunch with friends at one of our favorite restaurants, Ms. Vicki’s on the River in Holiday, FL, and we had time after filling ourselves up to wander out on the dock and take some pictures. It was a picture-perfect day.  (if you go, I heartily recommend the Fish Platter and the She Crab soup, my son loves the hamburgers.)

Anclote Park In Holiday FL is on the west coast of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. Take Alt. 19 to Anclote Blvd.make a right on Bailey’s Bluff,  left at Anclote Marina.  Ms. Vicki’s is on the Anclote River which leads out to the Gulf. And the views are just wonderful.

With this in mind, the dinosaurs will be wandering Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo until August when they can be returned to a secluded jungle-island. (I love the Zoo’s advertising). **Photos courtesy of Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.

In the first place, if you’re a Tampa Lowry Park Zoo member, entrance to Dinos Alive is free. In fact, as a Zoo member, you get unlimited visits for 12 months to Dinos Alive, and Sunset Celebration, Creatures of the Night, Christmas in the Wild. View membership fees here.

Shops At Wiregrass Car Show

Shops At Wiregrass Car Show is Sunday, January 15 starting at 12 pm. (noon) and ending at 4 pm.

Shops At Wiregrass Car ShowWhere is Shops At Wiregrass? 28211 Paseo Drive, Wesley Chapel, FL.  33543. If you live west of it like we do, take SR 54, it switches to SR 56 and you can’t miss it. It is on the north side of the road. It’s a wonderful, open-air mall with lots of great shops like Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Chico’s, Talbot’s and Barnes and Noble. Wiregass opened in 2008.

Shops At Wiregrass Car Show

Shops at Wiregrass has events every month(car shows are not in summer schedule); so there is usually a car show once a month. This will be the first one of 2017 with many more to come.  We always enjoy going to them; there are lots of great classics and new autos and trucks. Also, a farmer’s market once or twice a month, several animal rescue events and pet costume contests and many others. To view their events page, click here.

Because it is an open-air mall, you can enjoy walking around outdoors, there are always things happening that the family can enjoy. For instance, today the kids can enjoy ice skating. (I believe today is the last day for skating). And, since it is an open mall, if it gets too hot, you can always duck into one of the great shops. Or have a bite to eat at one of their awesome restaurants: such as Grill Smith, Pinchers Crab Shack, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers.

The musical Christmas Tree is an awesome event during the holidays and will really put you in the mood at Christmas time.  Then you can shop after enjoying the music and lights.

Additionally, the weekend after the car show, Jan. 21 and 22, the Suncoast Art Fest will be on display.  I’ll tell you about that in a few days.
