Kumquat Festival Jan 31, 2015. The Kumquat Festival is held in Dade City, FL. and is  presented by the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce.   

Dade City is on the eastern side of Pasco County.  It is scheduled for 9am to 5pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015. The nearby town of St. Joseph is known as the Kumquat Capital of the World.

Kumquat Festival Jan 31, 2015Y’all know what a Kumquat is, right? It’s that little orange fruit that looks like a baby orange; you can make great marmalade from it. And lots of other tasty stuff.

 According to the Chamber, as many as 40,000 people attend with over 400 vendors. There will be entertainment, food, antique cars, arts and crafts and face- painting. Historic downtown Dade City is picturesque and still very much a “old-time” area.

Did you know that kumquat peel is eaten along with the fruit? It contains flavonoid anti-oxidants, fiber, and essential oils.And Vitamin C and B Complex.

We plan on going to the Kumquat Festival  Jan 31, 2015 since we have never been to one. Here are the directions to Dade City:

  • From Interstate 75 — east on Highway 52 to Downtown Dade City (on Festival Day – free satellite parking at the Pasco Fairgrounds on Highway 52 coming into Dade City, free shuttle to the Festival)
  • From Highway 301 — north or south follow into Downtown Dade City (on Festival Day – free satellite parking across from Jarrett Ford, free shuttle to the Festival)
