Disney World Gingerbread House. Are you heading for Disney World Orlando for the holidays? Be sure you stop in the lobby of the Grand Floridian Hotel there and see, and maybe eat, a piece of a giant gingerbread house.
Disney World Gingerbread House
This gingerbread house is approximately 18 ft high. Made fresh every year, it takes 1050 lbs of Honey, 800 lbs of flour, 600 lbs chocolate, 600 lbs powdered sugar, 180 lbs apricot glaze, 140 pints of egg whites, 35 lbs of spices. See the pictures below for the porch details. If you stand in the walkway of the second floor, you can see the smoke from the chimney.
The Disney World Gingerbread House is in the lobby of the Grand Floridian and causes lots of excitement for the kids. (All of us).
And you can buy a roof shingle (gingerbread, of course) to chomp on while you look.
Very special and very worth seeing. Don’t start counting carbs though!
The Christmas decorations go up at the last night of the Thanksgiving weekend. Believe it or not, they are almost completely finished in a day or two (all over the complex). I love going to Disney World at the holidays; everything is so sparkly. The decorations are spectacular all over the park.
