The Flower and Garden Show is always spectacular and the 2012 show did not disappoint. This will be a series as the Flower and Garden Show has so much in it.

Today’s post  is Butterflies and Roses. There is always a Butterfly exhibit and it was even better this year. I was able to get them to cooperate for a second or two (the butterflies). The roses always cooperate.

Hello there.

We have lots more folks in New Port Richey nowadays; New Port Richey stretched it’s boundaries beyond the city limits so the population is considerable higher.

I wonder who the 2 or 3 old grouches were? I’m sure they are gone by now and we have friendly folks in New Port Richey-FL. Call us if you would like to live here.

Mama Cardinal is Heading Out to Find Food

Mama Cardinal is Heading Out to Find Food

In a large Ligustrum bush by my front door, every year a cardinal couple builds a nest and raise their family in it. Cardinals stay together and both help raise the young’uns.

Mom and Dad share feeding duties and this morning Mom was heading out to go shopping for groceries.  Of course, we keep her local supermarket nearby – our feeder is always filled.

Take a look around your yard and see if you can fine Mom & Dad Cardinal building a nest!

A little history about the Sundance Central Railroad

  • This railroad is built in Fn3 scale which is 1:20.3 or about twice the size of a Lionel O scale train.
  • The layout is a modular design which allows us to dissemble it and ship it.  It has been to many national Narrow Gauge
  • conventions from Portland Maine to Portland Oregon and has won many of the top modeling awards in the country.
  • The layout has been an on-going collaboration of 7 guys for almost a decade.
  • The set up of the Sundance Central takes about 15 hours and take down is about 5 hours.
  • The track is aluminum and was all hand laid and hand spiked.
  • Frank Palmer, Richard Schmitt, Dave Revelia, Keith Wolfe, Dale MacKeown and Jim Hopes
  • comprise this fine group of modelers, builders and dreamers.

Craig and Toni Weidman of ReMax Sunset  featured in It’s Your Home-Trinity Magazine

Craig and Toni Weidman of Re/Max Sunset Realty-Trinity area real estate agents, were featured in the December issue.

Debbie Dawson, owner of It’s Your Home Trinity magazine said she would love to feature us in the magazine. And, she did!

Craig and Toni Weidman of ReMax Sunset Realty featured in It's Your Home-Trinity MagazineCommunity Networking in Action – Toni & Craig Weidman from RE/MAX Sunset Realty

What do you love most about your career in real estate?
We both love working with people to help them realize their dream:  whether it’s finding their new home, or selling the home they live in now so they can move on to the next phase in their lives.  We have been selling homes in this area for 20 years, and enjoy seeing people reach their goals.
You are very involved in our community;  tell us about your interest in social networking.
We find social networking is the way to get information out to the general public, local friends and businesses.  We ARE very involved in the community- Toni is President of the Board of Directors of the SPCA Suncoast and we have been able to contribute to an increase of adoptions, money & food donations, and necessary items to the shelter through social networking.   Toni also writes a blog about real estate, events, people, and the history of the area,www.tweidman.com
Why do you believe local businesses need to support each other?
Local businesses need to support each other in order to help our economy grow. If we just buy “foreign” then which country are we helping-not ours!  We need to provide jobs in this country; and if each community supported its own, we would have millions of businesses that would thrive and grow. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?  Craig has several Facebook pages for businesses to network (Florida Networking Group) and post vendor opportunities (Vendor Events West Pasco).

What community organizations are you involved in and why?
We belong to the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassadors Club. The Ambassadors Club is a group of volunteers who attend Ribbon Cuttings and act as mentors for new businesses.  We also support Exceptional Women’s Health, Sand Soldiers, MDA, Good Samaritan Health Clinic, Alzheimer’s Family Organization, SmileFaith, and many others.  Toni is also a member of the Rotary Club of Trinity and volunteers at the SPCA Suncoast.
Share your favorite quote?
“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” –Albert Einstein
What do you love most about IT’s YOUR HOME Magazine?
We love that it is about our area, and our people: and for our area, and our people!
Toni & Craig Weidman can be contacted by phone, 727-237-0083 or 727-359-9518 and by email at homesbytoni@gmail.com.
